Putin’s spox: Russia not to block operations of Ukrainian firms
MOSCOW, Mar 28 (PRIME) -- Russia will not retaliate barricading of outlets of Russian companies in Ukraine and will not block any Ukrainian business, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
According to media reports, activists of a Ukrainian nationalist movement had begun to block outlets of Russian retailers Sportmaster and Gloria Jeans.
“Of course, this is unthinkable for Russia to behave in a barbarian way like it is happening in Ukraine, exposing owners’ rights to danger,” Peskov said.
“Russia has never violated international agreements, obligations, has never breached investor rights. Trust is easily undermined, the good name, which provides comfortable conditions to investors, is easily lost in this sense. Decades will be needed to earn a good name again.”
The official called on the Ukrainian authorities to protect the rights of Russian investors. He also said he abstains from recommendations for Russian companies on whether to leave the Ukrainian market.
